GWL Publishing has released Chéri Vause’s latest novel, The Night Shadow.
This novel, available as a paperback and e-book, is set in 1960s America, centring around Los Angeles and New York.
Esther Charlemagne and Aiden McManus are two former NYPD Detectives, called in to investigate the mysterious death of a young ballerina, Jane Fairfax. Their investigations take them from fashionable but flighty LA, to their more familiar territory of New York City, where they quickly discover that there is more to their prime suspect, Simone Du Maurier, than meets the eye.
Intertwined with this detective mystery, is the growing romance between Esther and ‘Mac’, who, it seems, are also harbouring some secrets of their own. The twists at the end of this novel will leave the reader spinning, yet satisfied as everything is brought to a neat conclusion.
In her novel, Chéri Vausé has captured the atmosphere of the mid-60s in both areas of the United States, enabling the reader to really immerse themselves in the situations created. Mac and Esther are both likeable and vulnerable characters whose future will be revealed in forthcoming novels.
Chéri’s artistic interests and background shine through in this realistic, fast-paced and exciting novel, which will bring delight to anyone who enjoys a good thought-provoking mystery.
“We are really honoured to represent Chéri and her books,” says Wendy Lawrance, co-founder of GWL Publishing. “In The Night Shadow, she has created a believable and thrilling piece of entertainment, with two of the most attractive leads we’ve seen in many a year.”
