K.K. Poole was born in 1969. He is the son of Australian parents and was educated at Magdalen College School and St. John’s College, Oxford. For three successive years he rowed in ‘The Boat Race’ against Cambridge.
After University, he taught science, coached rowing and gained a doctorate in epilepsy epidemiology before qualifying as a general practitioner in 2003. He is married with three sons.
In recent years he has been writing a trilogy. The first two books, The Sudden Metropolis and The Long White Cloud, centre on a doctor called John Hunston and are set in 1900 and The First World War respectively. The third, Blade Warriors, is about Hunston’s son, during The Second World War. These three titles will be published by GWL Publishing, starting with The Sudden Metropolis in the autumn/winter of 2017.
